We all have those days when nothing goes right, when everything sucks and you just don’t feel like doing anything at all. Some of us just get depressed and sad and nothing could make them get out of that state. Others get angry over anything and start to hate everything that surrounds them. There are a few things you should do, when you are in a state like that, to gain your calm again.
First, you have to understand that life isn’t making fun of you, even though that’s what it looks like. It’s not your fault that things go wrong sometimes; they’re just going to go better in time. It is very important to be happy with yourself in the crappy days. It’s not your fault that others do stupid shit just to hurt you or that things go wrong just to get you annoyed. You should be there for yourself when no one is because you are the one who should treat yourself the best. If you hate yourself why would others love you? And believe me, you don’t have enough reasons to hate yourself, even if you think you have. Did you kill anyone? Did someone die or kill himself because of you? Does anyone hate you to death? Did you destroy someone in a way that he could never be the same again? Did you do something illegal and very, very wrong? Even if you did all of these things, you had a reason. You had something in your head when you did it. Even if you think different now, just remember you are not who you were back then anymore. Forgive yourself of everything you’ve ever done.
Second, you have to feel alright about everything around you. Just because a book doesn’t stay at its place when you put it, it doesn’t mean that it wants to annoy you or watch you suffer. Things are not able to do that. Things are just things. You can even laugh at things. The stupid book doesn’t stay in its place, too bad; you’ll have to leave it on the floor to freeze to death all night. Think about it like that because things don’t have an evil mind with an evil purpose to piss you off all the time, even though that’s what it seems.
Third, calm down. You can use relaxing exercises. Working out really helps you feel happier. Eat chocolate. That also makes you more cheerful. Take a walk in the park or in the city, somewhere away from your problems and away from the people that make you mad. Walk alone with your mp3. It understands. It knows everything about you, it saw everything that you have to hide and it didn’t leave you (as if it could, but anyway...). Your mp3 is your friend. Put your favorite song on it and play it again and again. If your favorite song is too sad, use something cheerful; anything will do. You could also keep a diary. That helps you throw away all your negative energy.
Now that you are calm you can look at things different. All the shit you’ve been through all day really has a good part, doesn’t it? It doesn’t?! Well... it was supposed to have one... Anyway... I have those days too. Everyone has them. And sometimes when you are calm and you look back at it, life still sucks, but it is going to be ok. Believe me. And you know why? Because I said so. Because I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what to write here for you and I didn’t do that so that you would read it and move on. I need you to believe in my words... Because I’ve been there...
